There are many junk degrees. Mechanical Engineer is a good one, _BUT_ US got rid of Industry, *that* is the backbone of the problem. Canada is such a bad country to live in, so boring, hard to make friends, just so depressing. From the U.K., went to Canada, now in the states. I am now happy with life, so any activities to do, cooler people who are more friendly. Never going back to live in Canada, I will visit though for their nature.

There are more states than just Texas where it is easy to buy guns. The hard part is getting them over the border to Canada. Which you should not do. If you get caught, jail time, criminal record, and so on. But I think when Trudeau gets voted out in the next election, Bill C21 is over, and it will be back to legal handguns selling, and buying. It is actually not that hard at all to get a gun license in Canada. Pretty straight forward, you make sure your record is clean, do one or two days course on the weekend, pass the test and you got it. Next send the application to the police, everything checks out clean, you get the license, and you can go and buy legal guns from the gun stores.

Wow, five years car-free. That's about $50,000 saved. With the money they saved, they could buy a really nice SUV. I'm just kidding, but if they invested that money with a modest return, those kids would have college paid for. Kudos to those parents. They will have healthier, happier, more self-reliant kids and they are creating wonderful memories.

I've seen that in places, the number of people cycling goes up by 85 % or more when a safe, bike infrastructure for all ages and all abilities is built. Many of these people would have been in a car. Instead of constantly widening roads at massive expense, doesn't it make more sense to get cars off the road for a fraction of the cost and have a much more livable city? I do not want to ban cars, but good grief... half of all trips are less than 3 miles. We could cut the number of cars in half on the roads.

Someones livlihood should not be leveraged to pay for anothers. Buying other peoples potential homes is not an "investment", it is theft. It robs the market from regulating prices based on demand. It forced people to rent. It should be a crime to own more than two dwellings.
